What are Fragrance Oils?
While essential oils are the natural derivatives of plants, fragrance oils are manufactured scents, artificially created to mimic the aroma of natural plants and flowers. These aromatic oils are just some of the many tools used by hobbyists and craft-lovers who are looking to add a prominent fragrance to projects such as candle-making, soap-making, perfumery and toiletry-making.
Each fragrance oil has a unique flash point, which is the temperature at which the oil can ignite when it comes into contact with an ignition source, such as a spark or an open flame. It’s important to take note of this detail for your fragrance oils when determining which will be best for your project.
Some of the most popular fragrance oils are:
- Lilac Mist - floral and jasmine-like, with hints of honey pollen.
- Musk - sweet and spicy, with hints of leather and wood.
- Linden Blossom - bright and floral, with sweet notes of rich honey.
